God Works in Mysterious Ways

When I was in "Junior High" (back when they called it Junior High and not "Middle School" I remember the High School students coming to talk to us about the electives we could take in High School. One of which was Early Childhood. That was what I wanted to take, and I did! I took Child Development and Early Childhood classes all three years of High School and loved it! During High School I worked in an after school program as one of my first jobs. Once I graduated I got a job in an Elementary School as a Teacher's Assistant.

One of my "dreams" was to have children, stay home with them, and open an in home daycare. I did just that! When Samuel was born I stayed home and kept another child and went on to continue having children and in 2000 became a state licensed daycare with 4 stars! I loved it! But in 2006 I decided that since all 4 of my children were in school that I wanted to try something else.

I took a job working for two Attorneys in Roxboro and eventually took a job working at Somerset Baptist Church as the Church Secretary.I have worked there for nearly two years and recently have really missed working in childcare. I miss playing outside with the kids, doing lessons and art and crafts, I miss being there when my children are home from school during teacher work days.

A few weeks ago I decided to go back and take classes to finish my Early Childhood Degree. (I'm about half way there!) Eventually I would like to be a director of a center or the owner of a center.

While thinking all of these things over and missing childcare so badly I was suddenly and without warning offered a new job in childcare! After prayer and thought for about three days, I decided to take the position.

I will be a lot busier but I know that I will be a lot happier as well. I will be sort of a "nanny" taking care of my good friend, Sharon's, children. Check out her blog at www.4boys2luv.blogspot.com
I will watch the twins (who are 2) and Collin (who is 3) and Tristan who is in school but I will have him after school and when school is out.

Caylee and Tristan are best buddies! I kept Tristan when he was about 3 months old until he was about 5. Caylee has loved him since then as they have grown up together so she is very happy about "going to work with mommy" as it is her best buddy's house.

I really feel like the Lord is leading me there. It will be better for my family, for me to finish school, and there are possibilities of me making more money than now!
Praise God for His goodness and blessings. He gives us the desires of our hearts. I was not expecting to switch jobs right now but just when I was thinking of missing childcare, God sent the perfect job right to me!

Our family is so thankful that things worked out the way they did. God never closes one door without opening another.
